PacStar 3500
Bringing full computing and communications power anywhere (by Conrad H. Blickenstorfer)
PacStar is a technology systems integrator that provides total communications solutions to the military as well as governmental and commercial customers. The PacStar 3500 is not so much a separate computer as a deployable network communications terminal in an airline carry-on-sized box that provides the full communications capabilities of a small office anywhere in the world. Providing integrated data, voice and satellite services, the PacStar 3500 includes a satellite modem, rugged laptop computer, analog phone, military-approved firewall and VoIP phone termination box. Housed in a shock-resistance chassis with pull-out, the product accepts 12 V DC, 110 V AC, and 240 V AC power options.
The PacStar 3500 can be used standalone, with voice and data services supplied by client existing infrastructure or third party phone providers. It can also be integrated with the PacStar 5500 to enable small teams to travel remotely, yet communicate as part of a larger deployed team.
As simple to transport as a piece of luggage, the PacStar 3500 provides customers with a compact, integrated communication solution that is easy to stow and easy to use, complete with simple step-by-step instructions so any user can be online anywhere in just minutes. The system is designed to connect remote individuals to command infrastructures, give first responders the information they need, and generally deploy virtually unlimited communications capabilities anywhere.
