Motorola Solutions enhances rescue missions across vast New Zealand terrains
Surf Lifesaving New Zealand Search and Rescue is increasing safety and efficiency for its inter-agency training exercises with rugged and reliable communications from Motorola Solutions. On a recent training exercise amidst towering peaks, waterfalls and narrow fiordlands reaching as high as 1,000 metres in New Zealand’s Milford Sound, Motorola Solutions’ MOTOTRBO SLR 1000 Repeater and rugged, dependable DP4000e and MOTOTRBO R7 two-way radios provided extended and interoperable coverage for all participating agencies. Teguar: Industrial computers with Windows 11
Over the past year and a half, Windows 11 has been kind of sneaking up on the world's PCs, and, according to statcounter, now has about a 23% market share (Windows 10 is still at 72%). Trimble reports Q1 2023 financial results
Trimble reported sales of US$915.4 million for Q1, 2023, down from US$993.7 million for Q1, 2022. GAAP operating income for Q1 2023 was US$137 million, down from US$156.9 million for Q1 2022. "Record annualized recurring revenue of $1.65 billion and record gross margin of 64.2 percent in the first quarter demonstrates the quality of our Connect and Scale strategy," said Rob Painter, Trimble's president and chief executive officer. Motorola Solutions Q1 2023 financials
Motorola Solutions reported sales of $2.171 billion for Q1 of 2023, compared to $1.892 billion Q1 2022. GAP operating earnings for Q1 2023 were $399 million, versus $239 million same quarter a year ago. "Q1 was an exceptional quarter, highlighted by double-digit revenue growth across both segments and all three technologies”, said Greg Brown, chairman and CEO of Motorola Solutions. "Record first-quarter sales, orders and ending backlog positions us very well for continued growth. As a result, we’re raising our revenue and earnings guidance for the full year." Zebra Technologies announces first-quarter 2023 results
Zebra Technologies announced results for Q1 ended April 1, 2023. GAAP net sales were US$1,405 million in Q1 of 2023 compared to US$1,432 million in Q1 of 2022. Net income for Q1 of 2023 was US$150 million, compared to net income of $205 million for Q1 of 2022. "Our team executed well in a challenging environment, delivering first quarter sales and earnings results above the midpoint of our outlook," said Bill Burns, Chief Executive Officer of Zebra Technologies. What happened in rugged computing 10 years ago: May 2013
In May 2013, IDC predicted that tablets would surpass portable PC shipments in 2013, and most tablets would have displays smaller than 8 inches. We reviewed the tiny Advantech SOM-7565 COM Express Mini board, the formidable Xplore iX104C5-M2, the VT Miltope RPDA-1, the Dell Latitude E6430 ATG, and the DT Research DT315CT. We added the rugged tablet, laptop and handheld comparison tools to the site. Advantech's AIMB-501 industrial motherboard was the fastest device we ever tested with a 1,782 score in PassMark 6. Juniper celebrated its 20th anniversary and launched its Get Rugged blog. Getac aimed for 30% rugged systems market share within 3-5 years. Motorola introduced the freezer-rated Psion Omnii XT15f.
